Summer Training

Summer Internal Training Program:

The department provides an internal training program in additional topics for levels one and two students. These topics are essential as they enable the students to understand and comprehend the subjects they study in their majors.

Summer Training Plan for Level One (1) Students:

Based on the ministry of high education’s authorized and sanctioned regulation, the summer training program for level one students is a must and it has to be performed internally in the academy. Passing this summer training is essential for permitting the students to register level two. Because the department cares to qualify the students with various and several skills in utilizing mechanical engineering specified programs, which in turn helps the students in their study in the department and after their graduation, the department then necessitates using this training program to learn and master AutoCAD program.

The Training Plan:

The training plan, based on the available time, is made in three courses. Each course includes only 60 students and is actually done in one of the academy’s computer labs as follows:

1 - In case of the increase in the number of students desiring to join the course, they are going to be postponed to the next spare stage.

2 - The course is 60 hours that lasts for ten (10) days within two weeks (from Sunday to Thursday) for six (6) hours daily.

3 - Students are examined at the end of the course to estimate their achievement and knowledge acquisition.

Details of the Course Program:

First week:

1 - Turn your comp, commands in ACAD (Keyboard, Menu and tool bars), starting a new drawing, opening an existing file, Saving your work, Application on some important commands, point and line commands, Different coordinate systems.

2 - Drawing commands (Circles, Arcs, Rectangle, Ellipse, Regular polygon.

3 - Drawing Aids: Setting units, Limits Command, Setup layers Drafting setting, Object Snap.

4 - Editing Commands: Erase, Copy, Move, Rotate, Mirror, Fillet, Chamfer, etc...

5 - Controlling drawing display and creating text. Zoom command, Text and dtext commands, Drawing special characters, Editing text.

Second week:

Basic Dimensioning:

1 - Introduction, Fundamental dimensioning terms, Selecting dimension commands, Editing dimensions, Dimension style Hatching and hatching edit

2 - Block and Wblock commands: Creating a block, converting objective into a block, Inserting block, Editing block, Renaming and deleting unused blocks

3 - Inquiry commands and plotting

4 - Evaluation Test.

Summer Training Plan for Level Two (2) Students:

Based on the ministry of high education’s authorized and sanctioned regulation, the summer training program for level two students is a must and it has to be performed internally in the academy. Passing this summer training is essential for permitting the students to register level three. Because the department cares to qualify the students with various and several skills in utilizing mechanical engineering specified programs, which in turn helps the students in their study in the department and after their graduation, the department then necessitates using this training program to learn and master SolidWorks program.

The Training Plan:

1 - The number of students in level two is approximately 200 students.

2 - The training plan, based on the available time, is made in four courses that should be held in the department computer lab and CNC lab with only forty eight (48) students in each course.

3 - The course is 60 hours that lasts for ten (10) days within two weeks (from Sunday to Thursday) for six (6) hours daily.

4 - Students are examined at the end of the course to estimate their achievement and knowledge acquisition.

1 - What is SolidWorks.

2 - Using Interface.

3 - Introduction.

4 - Features & Commands.

5 - Introduction to curves.

Second Week

1 - Assemblies

2 - Assemblies and tool box.

3 - Drafting

4 - Simulation Express- Photo View360 (Introduction).

5 - Quiz and evaluation.
